STRATEGIC CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT BRANCH
MISSION STATEMENT: Strategic Customer Engagement pursues opportunities for DLA to deliver improved combat support to the warfighter, through engagement and coordination on PBL initiatives, partnering with industry and developing tailored support (Kitting). In June 2009, The Aviation Sustainment and Readiness Division was established within the Directorate of Aviation Customer Operations. The Strategic Customer Engagement Branch was formed by combining personnel from SMSG and Business Development Office. The Strategic Customer Engagement Branch is responsible for engagement with customers, for the purpose of coordinating DLA support on Performance Based Logistics contracts. The type of support, or required coordination, can be wide in scope based on the specific requirements by service/initiative. This support would include DLA partnering with industry or DLA initiating contract support in the role of supplier/integrator. Additionally support to the warfighter can be tailored to requirements and provided in the form of an assembly or kit. All initiatives focus primarily on measurable outcomes designed to bolster existing weapon system support or new support crafted to enhance service mission/readiness, and reduce total ownership costs Strategic Customer Engagement personnel stand ready to engage and assist both DoD and commercial customers to achieve improved logistical support.
