DLA to hold active shooter emergency response exercise
April 26, 2012
Defense Logistics Agency Aviation and DLA Installation Support will conduct an active shooter emergency response exercise on Defense Supply Center Richmond the morning of  May 10.

Police and fire and EMS officials will participate in the exercise to include role-playing, and evacuating buildings on the installation. Employees will hear simulated gunshots, various sirens from DLA Fire and Emergency Services, and test messages over the emergency notification system.

DLA Richmond firefighters increase skills with rescue training

DLA Installation Support’s Fire & Emergency Services at Richmond hosted a Rescue Technician Course March 26 – April 2 taught by the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute.

The Institute, which is part of the University of Maryland, is the State's fire and emergency service training agency. It plans, researches, develops, and delivers quality programs to enhance the ability of emergency services providers to protect life, the environment, and property.

DLA hosts luncheon for local military, civilian leaders

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation hosted the second Fort Lee Civilian-Military Council luncheon of 2012 April 11 on Defense Supply Center Richmond.

The luncheon was attended by military and civilian leaders from Fort Lee, DLA Aviation, DLA Installation Support and the 80th Army Training Command. Also in attendance were local community leaders from the counties of Chesterfield, Dinwiddie and Prince George and from the cities of Colonial Heights, Petersburg and Hopewell.
